Chinese Translation of 'Best Practices' Now Available Print E-mail
Tuesday, 20 May 2008
ImageToday it is my pleasure to tender a big Toa chie / M goi to Zhang Ze Yuan and Zhong Xiao Chuan, who have worked together to complete the translation of the PureMVC Implementation Idioms and Best Practices document into Chinese. As with the original, examples are in ActionScript 3 for Adobe Flex, Flash and AIR.

Zhong began work on the translation nearly 2 months ago, and had completed quite a bit when Zhang, unaware of Zhong's efforts produced a first draft of his own. This turned out to be a good thing, as the two collaborated to clear up their remaining areas of question, and deliver the nicely formatted and more closely proofread version you see today. I'm sure this will be a great tool for Chinese-speaking PureMVC developers.

In other translation news, I've just added the AltaVista BabelFish translation widget to the PureMVC Forums. There is a lot of knowledge accumulating in the forums, but it's all in English. This widget will allow you to select a language and then you'll be able to browse forums from page to page in that language. You can even set bookmarks to translated pages!

The widget is located (as if you could miss it) in the upper left corner of the forum pages. Due to AltaVista's terms of use, I cannot modify it to make it any more 'low profile' than it is. This might be a ugly for you if you don't need to translate. To make it go away, you can simply click the minimize button '[ - ]' on the upper right corner of the forurm page header to collapse. It will stay collapsed whenever you visit.

Also, a Spanish translation is under way, and there is still a need for other languages including Russian, Italian, Korean and Japanese. PureMVC developers out there who speak any of these languages and would like to help should contact me directly.

And thanks again to Zhang and Zhong for your your efforts,

-=Cliff>
